Privacy Policy
The short version. Your camera frames and photos are measured on your phone. PhiFace has no server, no account system, and no analytics. Camera frames are never saved to disk and never uploaded. The only network activity is downloading the face-measurement software from the content networks named below, and that happens only when you start a scan.
1. Who we are
PhiFace is published by Techxant Technologies. For any privacy question, email hello@phiface.app.
2. What the app processes, and where
Camera frames during a guided scan
When you start a scan, the app opens the camera and analyses the live preview on your device. Frames are held in memory only long enough to measure them. No frame is written to storage, and no frame is uploaded. What is kept is the set of numbers — a few ratios and a reliability label — and those stay on the device too. Closing the result screen discards them.
Saved photos
If you choose a photo instead of using the camera, it is decoded and analysed on your device and is not uploaded.
Face measurements
The app computes measurement points and ratios on your device, shows them to you, and transmits them nowhere.
Share cards
A share card image is created only when you tap the button, and one containing your photo only after you explicitly choose the with-photo option. Saving uses your phone's photo library with its normal permission prompt. What you do with a saved card afterwards is outside this app.
3. Permissions
- Camera — only to run a guided scan. Frames are measured live and not stored. Declining is fine: you can still measure a saved photo instead.
- Photo library — only to let you pick a photo, and to save a share card when you ask.
- Microphone — not used. The app explicitly blocks this permission and requests no audio.
4. Network activity
To measure faces, the app downloads the MediaPipe face-measurement runtime and model (about 3 MB) the first time you start a scan, and again if your phone has cleared the app's web cache. These downloads come from:
- cdn.jsdelivr.net and fastly.jsdelivr.net (jsDelivr)
- unpkg.com
- storage.googleapis.com (Google, for the model file)
Like any internet request, these services receive your device's IP address and standard request metadata when the download happens. PhiFace sends them no photo, no camera frame, no measurements, and no identifiers. The app makes no other network requests, and a content-security policy restricts it to exactly these hosts.
5. What the app does not do
No accounts. No advertising or tracking SDKs. No analytics in this version. No sale or sharing of personal data. No face recognition, identification, or matching of any kind — the app measures proportions and does not attempt to recognise who you are or compare you with anyone. No processing of more than one face: scans and photos containing multiple faces are stopped without a result.
6. What the results are not
PhiFace is for personal curiosity only. It is not a medical, psychological, legal, employment, identity, security, or dating tool. Do not use these numbers for any official purpose, or to judge, rank, screen, or make decisions about yourself or any other person. Measurements come from one 2D camera and can be wrong: angle, distance, lens, lighting, and expression all change the numbers, so the same face can score differently between scans.
7. Data retention and deletion
The app keeps no scan history in this version. Closing the result screen discards the analysis. Saved share cards live in your photo library under your control. Clearing the app's storage in your phone's settings removes the downloaded measurement software; it re-downloads on the next scan. Because nothing is stored on any server, there is no server-side data to request or delete.
8. Your rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR (EEA/UK) and the CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Because PhiFace holds no personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Anything the app keeps lives on your device and is removed by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and never have.
9. Children
PhiFace is not directed at children. The store listing carries an age rating of Teen (13+), and the app must not be used to measure or compare children's faces.
10. Changes
If a future version adds history, accounts, sync, or AI explanations, those features will be optional, described here before release, and introduced with their own consent steps. Any change to what the app does will be reflected in this policy and in the store's data-safety declarations in the same release.
